The Skipjack Collection

The Skipjack is a low-draft sailing vessel that has sailed the Chesapeake Bay since the War of 1812. While originally crafted to meet the growing demand for oysters, the versatile schooner evolved to dredge blue crabs out of the bay’s shallow tributaries up until recent times. With her sleek hull and decorative subtleties, the Skipjack now sails as a symbol of seafaring legacy in the Chesapeake region, preserving maritime culture and traditions around us. 

Our Skipjack Collection is inspired by these iconic vessels, which were originally the product of a booming industrial era in the Chesapeake region. Towson Watch Company is built on our founder’s mutual love for sailing, since Maryland’s rich maritime history was what originally brought them together in Annapolis to begin with. Each watch in this collection celebrates these origins of our brand, capturing the essence of the inspiring vessels that came before. Our timepieces bring local shipbuilding prowess back to life on the wrist, glorifying American craftsmanship and design in the modern age. 

Skipjack vessels are all different and stand apart from one another, but they are built to the same parameters and technical specifications. For us, each watch in the Skipjack Collection features a slim stainless-steel case with mirror finishes and domed sapphire-crystal. They also have 5 ATM depth ratings with anti-magnetism and chronometer-grades. A clear and legible dial is fundamental, but it must be dressed in accordance to the premium tastes of collectors and yachtsmen alike. Despite their differences in shape and effect, each watch in the Skipjack Collection is built with the same timeless versatility and elegance as the inspiring Skipjack schooners.
