Rooted in the pioneering spirit of our co-founder Hartwig Balke, whose groundbreaking work with the Caliber 7750 set the stage for Towson Watch Company to become a premier American Watch Brand. Our Mission Collection stands as a pinnacle of Swiss-made excellence fused with American ingenuity.

The genesis of our Mission Collection traces back to Hartwig Balke’s pioneering work, crafting his first Mission Chronograph for a NASA astronaut embarking on an STS-99 space mission in 2000. This groundbreaking feat not only validated the capability of automatic watches in space but also provided the springboard for Towson Watch Company’s ascent. From humble beginnings in Towson, MD, emerged an American watch brand synonymous with highest-grade watchmaking, collectible value, and historical relevance. 

At the heart of our Mission Collection lies the revered Caliber 7750, one of the greatest Swiss movements of all time. Our founder’s mastery over the movement is a testament to the rejuvenation of American watchmaking, with each unit regulated to chronometer-grade accuracy and decorated via traditional handmade techniques in-house. This distinguished movement has served as the cornerstone of all timepieces in the Mission Collection, embodying the spirit of exploration, versatility and timelessness. Continuing to prove today that American Watchmakers are capable of working with the best horological complications in the world. 

The Mission Collection is presented in various styles and shapes, with three main reference model categories offered, including the Mission, Cockpit and Choptank. In addition, full-calendar “Moon” versions are also available in each style, using the modified 7751 caliber. Whether it's the utilitarian allure of the Mission, the refined elegance of the Cockpit, or the rugged sophistication of the Choptank, each timepiece exudes its own character and taste while retaining the professional-grade essence of the Mission Collection.

Crafted from the finest materials and engineered to withstand the harshest conditions, Towson Watches in the Mission Collection are professional-grade instruments designed for precision and reliability. Featuring German stainless steel, incabloc shock-resistance, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a 5 ATM depth rating, every watch in the collection is built to function as a tool and last a lifetime doing so.
