An evolution of forms in the Mission Collection.
STS-99 Chronometer is the predecessor to the modern line of Mission Chronographs. First released in 2010 to offer Hartwig Balke’s space-watch to collectors of American Horology around the world. An exact reproduction of the former chronometers worn by astronauts aboard the Endeavour Spacecraft in 2000. Powered by the same movement that helped prove an automatic-watch does function in outer space - a COSC-certified 7750 Swiss Caliber regulated in-house by Towson watchmakers. Available in a silver or black TWC-stamped dial. Each limited to 100 timepieces.
Series One MISSION - Towson’s first branded line of Mission M250 Chronographs. Produced using the same traditional approach to fine watchmaking as Hartwig Balke’s former chronometers. Now featuring enhanced dial-detailing and case-finishing to serve the refined tastes of collectors and everyday business professionals. Towson’s shield-logo is painted on the dial to celebrate the brand of in-house watchmakers developed since TWC went to space. Powered by the same 7750 caliber found in the STS-99 Chronometer, now decorated and tested in-house. Limited to 250 timepieces per dial color (silver or black).
Series Two MISSION - A utilitarian refinement that captures the identity of the Mission collection’s roots. Visually telling the story of a professional-grade instrument proven in outer space, built by the hands of American watchmakers. The scaled-up 42mm stainless-steel case is enhanced with crown-guards and bent-down lugs. The new satin-finish and case-shape were designed to further guarantee comfort, durability and usability for everyday wearers. Powered by the same 7750 Caliber once used in outer space. Limited to 250 timepieces per dial color (silver or black).
Series One MISSION MOON evolves the Mission Chronograph with functional enhancements for collectors and professionals seeking to experience the many complications offered in mechanical horology. Now powered by the modified 7751 Swiss Caliber. A visual return to the MISSION I with a formally-refined design language featuring rhodium applications on the dial, high-polishes and coined detailing on the case. Artisanal embellishments make the professional tool-grade instrument fit for the sophisticated tastes of collectors and everyday business professionals. Limited to 250 timepieces per dial color (silver, black, copper).
Series Two MISSION MOON puts the evolution of the collection on full display. Offering the professional-grade utility of the original chronometer while highlighting the formal elegance of the inspired branded line of chronographs that came after. Taking the stainless steel case of the MISSION II and slightly modifying it to accommodate the enhanced 7751 caliber developed for the former MISSION MOON I. Now featuring a day-correcting-pusher installed on the left side of the 42mm stainless steel case and crown guards to ensure the precision, accuracy and longevity of the movement that once helped prove an automatic watch works in outer space. Limited to 250 timepieces per dial color (silver or black with tachymeter choice).
